OH MY GOD I FINALLY FINISHED THE BLOODY THING XD XD XD XD My nakama FST of DESPAIR is DONE. LET ME RUN AROUND IN GLEE FOR A FEW SECONDS….AND WE’RE DONE.

This FST has been two years in the making and I wish I was kidding when I say that. But it’s true. It’s undergone a few transformations since I tried to tweak it for Family Month way back when. I hadn’t managed to finish it in time for that theme BUT IT’S DONE NOW AND THAT’S WHAT MATTERS AMIRITE?

Let's face it, sentient_icons is the shit. The challenge is fun, there's no time limit for completion and the number of icons required is short enough that everyone can do it while being different enough that it's always a challenge. So the ambitious goal this time is to do one for each Straw Hat. I'm skipping Luffy in favor of the daily_icon challenge I've got going now for him, so we're starting with #2, 3 and 4 :D

So this is like two months overdue or something. But animated icons when your animation program won't accept the movie files take a lot longer than usual. And text-based are always a pain pleasure. But here for you today is the ultimate in fangirling glee. See, I always swore I'd never icon Discworld novels, although my personal LJ username comes from the books and I'm terribly addicted to the stories, because there are already incredible Discworld icons out there.

And then I watched SkyOne's The Hogfather. Oops.

So one day I was just quietly sitting, listening to my music on my laptop, when "Wave Over Wave" by Great Big Sea came on. Listening to it was like being bitten by one of the Red Hair Pirates (somehow, I think it would be Shanks who would do the biting. Or Lucky Roux). And I decided to try a songset challenge, because so many people do them and they seem easy.

I know a lot of people may be "Eh, whatev" because the Akagami Kaizoku-dan are minor characters. I suspect the great desire to icon them is spurred by my hopes that a Give-the-Strawhats-Higher-Bounties arc is coming and that we get to see SHAAAAAAANKSUUUUU AND BEEEEEEN AND YASOPPPPPPP ...oh, and their reactions to news of the Strawhats, of course XD. It's really nice to do a challenge again. Although only doing OP characters for icon challenges should really be getting to me by now >.>

I also added another requirement (for my own torture, not as part of the 30_songset competition); I'm usin manga images only. Given that Shanks and his nakama only really show up in three manga chapters and a few color images, I may be screwing myself. XD But we'll see. Comments/criticisms would be really appreciative :D
